Sonnen's Gen2 eco-energy storage system currently only provides power to household loads that are connected with the covered loads' panel when used in self-consumption mode. The Sonnen eco will be able to control both household loads on the safe loads' panel as well as the main panel if a Whole Home Self-consumption package is built in conjunction with the Gen2 system. When the grid goes down and the unit switches to backup mode, this configuration allows consumers to use the batteries to offset more household loads. It also offers a more efficient service when the grid goes down and the unit switches to backup mode.
